Dear Parents,

Just a short note to remind you of forthcoming activities.

Many congratulations to all the children who visited the Urdd Eisteddfod last week which was very successful. Congratulations to all who made it to national level and especially to Joshua Ireland, the Cerdd Dant Group, Mrs Davies' class and George Nash who all managed to get a top three place including 1st for some children. I do hope that you managed to catch them on television, however some videos are still available on the website. Many thanks to the staff and parents who supported the children in their success.

The School Council Fruit Tuckshop is now in operation. The tuckshop is currently selling apples, bananas and raisins at 30 pence each and will sell ceral Geobars on Fridays at 40 pence. This is a trial period for the tuckshop and it is intended that children have 'opportunity' to buy, but there is no expectation. We will not allow children to buy more than one item each day. The purpose is to ensure that all children have access to healthy snacks and don't be persuaded by children that they "have" to buy anything. The only definite is that where children are having snacks, that they are healthy.

Many thanks to PTA for their continued enthusiasm and support for the school. You will notice that they will be selling ice pops and ice creams on Fridays until the end of term.

Please don't forget that Sports day will be on Wednesday of next week 11th of June. Obstacle races and Playgroup races will take place in the morning at 10:45am. Sports day itself will start at 1pm and will aim to finish at just after 3pm. If the weather makes the track dangerous sports will be postponed until Thursday 12th, then Friday 13th. Hopefully it will be on Wednesday!
