Dear Parents,
A very Happy New Year, we hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. We extend a very warm welcome to; Thomas S, Thomas W, Joshua, Freya, Jamie and George who have started in Dosbarth Derbyn and Becky who has started in Year 3. We also welcome Mrs Eleri Evans to the Learning Support Staff. We hope that all of these children and staff will settle quickly and enjoy their time at Ysgol Comins Coch.
This is a short term with only 11 weeks due to an early Easter, there is plenty of learning to do in a short space of time! We ask for your help with a few mattters to help with the smooth running of the school day. Please could every child's coat have a hook or loop inside so that it can be hung properly. Many children are only able to drape their coat on a peg and are upset when it falls on the floor as the next child brushes past. Can we also remind parents that children are not allowed to wear jewellery to school other than (where necessary) ear studs. Children are encouraged to wear uniform at all times but must wear uniform for every visit. We now have only a very limited stock of uniform to lend to children. In the next few weeks we will be issuing every child with a PE bag to store their PE kit on their peg. It is hoped that these bags will stay in school with PE kit and be sent home each half term (or sooner) for a wash. This will ensure that children always have kit in school and there will be no oversized bags clogging up the cloakrooms. Thank you for your understanding with this.
Year 4 children will be off to the Kingswood Computer Centre on Sunday January 18th, we are sure they will have a wonderful time.
Urdd Club will start next Wednesday 14th of January. This term is also Eisteddfod time and many of the competitions will require children to learn and practise their parts at home, we ask for your assistance in helping the children as much as possible.
Parents Evenings will be held on the 11th and 12th of February this term and we remind parents that this is the cocasion we ask you to book appointments. The list of times will be placed outside classrooms on Monday 26th January.
We are looking forward to a busy and exciting term and trust that you will continue as always to support the work of the school. As always, if you ever have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Yours sincerely,
Tom Fanning
