Dear Parents,
Just a short note to keep you up to date with activities and dates until the end of the term; after a very busy couple of weeks with St David's Day, ground works and particularly the Eisteddfodau. I would like to thank the children who have been working hard and representing the school so well. Most importantly it was pleasing to see that the children enjoyed themselves and behaved exceptionally well. Many thanks to everyone who worked so hard in preparing and supporting the children and we wish everyone well in the County Eisteddfod.
The PTA have prepared a letter about their activities overleaf, but can I express our sincere thanks to all who turned up and helped with the planting of the willow. It was particularly rewarding to see so many past pupils turn up and help with the heavy work!
The run up to Easter looks as if it will be just as busy, and we list the activities below. However please note that school is closed next Monday (16th) for INSET training for staff. Tomorrow is "Red Nose Day" and children are welcome to dress in red as part of the festivities. Whilst donations can still be made in school we have sold out of noses, sorry.
Tomorrow is also Mrs Eleri Evans' (Dosbarth Derbyn) last day. Mrs Evans who joined us in January will be taking a new post near home in Machynlleth. We thank her for all the care and attention she has show to the children whilst she has been here and we wish her well in her new post.
Many thanks for all the support with Fair Trade Fortnight. The support from parents for this project has been excellent. Mr Leggett would like to remind everyone that Year 6 will start operating the Fruit Tuck-Shop again from next Tuesday 17th of March at 30p per day.
Miss Anwen Evans our "Teacher in Charge of Saving the Planet" has asked could any OLD COPIES of the Yellow Pages reach school before the middle of next week.
If you have a child, or know someone who has a child, who wants a place at Ysgol Comins Coch by January 2011 (born before January 2007) you will need to apply by this April. Application forms are available from school.
As is always the case, if you have concerns regarding these or any other matters, please do not hesitate to contact me or your child's class teacher.
Yours sincerely,
Tom Fanning
