Dear Parents,
Many thanks for your support for the Fete and Barbecue which the PTA inform me has raised £1277.22. We thank you for your generosity and support for this event.
We have now reached the final week of School for 2006/07. On Friday 20 children will leave us and transfer to Penglais School. Some will be going to join big brothers and sisters, some will be the first of their families. We are confident that they are all ready to take full advantage of the excellent opportunities at Penglais. We wish them every success and happiness in the future.
This will also mark the point at which some families will be losing their daily contact with Ysgol Comins Coch. This is a sad day but, we thank you all for the support we have received and wish each family every happiness and success in the future.
School will close on Friday at 1.30pm and we ask all parents to ensure that each child has taken home all their belongings. We also ask that all reading books and School resources are returned as soon as possible for storage through the Summer.
There will be some building work, with new ceilings in the Junior classrooms through the holidays, which means that these three classes will need to be completely cleared during the next few days. We ask for your patience in ensuring that children bring to school only that which is necessary over the last few days.
The school prefers that children wear uniform all the time, but insist that it is worn for School visits. The stock of sweaters that the school has to loan pupils for trips and the like is diminishing, so we ask that parents budget to purchase at least one school uniform for next year. We will continue to keep a small stock but expect its use to be limited and for those occasions where children have accidents. We would also ask you to consider carefully the bags that children bring to school. Bulky, large or expensive bags are difficult to store during the day so we suggest drawstring bags particularly for PE kit. Thank you for all your help, in all of these matters.
School will re-open for children on Tuesday 4th September, and we look forward to a busy, exciting and rewarding year in which children's happiness and learning is paramount.
As a Staff, we thank you for your continued support throughout the year. We wish you a happy holiday, and we look forward to welcoming the children back in September.
Yours sincerely,
Tom Fanning
