Many thanks for the wonderful support for the Nativity and Christmas shows over the past week. I am sure you will agree that the children were excellent and made us all very proud. Da iawn i chi blant! It is hard to believe that we are about to begin 2010, but it has been pleasing to see the children so successful and happy in their learning, we look forward to more of the same next year.
We would like to provide you with some information regarding arrangements for the new term.
Security: In order to address concerns we have over people walking into school and having possible access to children, we have decided that from the start of next term we will be locking the front door of the school. The door will lock at about 9.15 and will remain locked throughout the day. Parents who arrive during the day to collect children or deliver a message are requested to ring the bell and await an answer. This is not the welcome we want to give our parents or visitors, but we are sure you recognise that the safety of the children is paramount.
Attendance: We are sure that you are aware that school attendance is currently a high priority with all Education authorities. Whilst we usually achieve 95% attendance at Comins Coch, there has been a decline this term. We recognise that there has been a greater level of illness this year but felt it may be of benefit to provide parents with a breakdown of their child's attendance for this term. We will forward you this information at the start of next term.

Please remember that whilst I am away next term Mrs Raw-Rees and Mrs Bethan Davies will be leading the school.
