Dear Parents,

I am sorry for the delay but overleaf is the outline diary for this year. We have tried to give as many of the main dates as possible to help you plan your own diary.

The INSET (school closure) days are agreed for all schools in the district, both primary and secondary, to close on the same days. There will be two of these days this term giving families a long weekend, closed Friday 14th and Monday 17th of November. The other dates are on the diary

The photograph orders are now complete and we will be sending them off at 9.15 tomorrow morning (Friday). We will also send out order forms for class photos as soon as they arrive at school which I hope will be in the next week. Thank you for the prompt replies this year!

The school will again be offering children the opportunity to attend various activities and visits. We recognise that the costs involved can be difficult for families to meet, which is why we have tried to spread them out and give early notice as to the expense involved. Please remember there is no expectation and these visits are considered opportunities should you wish to send your child. Parents are always welcome to pay by installments to spread the cost, or to discuss confidentially with Mr Fanning at any time. Approximate costs Year 6: Glanllyn in May £125; Year 5 Cardiff in June £100; Year 4: Kingswood in January £125.

Please note that the initial parents open evening will be held on Wednesday 22nd October. This evening is 'open' and about providing parents with information about how your child has settled and getting on. If you want confidential discussions with the teacher please consider making a separate appointment when you can discuss these matters in private. The parents evening with appointments always takes place in the Spring Term.

Following the success of Junior Christmas Concert last year we will be using Penglais School on Thursday 11th December. We hope that this will enable the audience to be able to sit safely in comfort with a good view and enjoy the performance. The Infants' Christmas Concert will be held at School as usual.

Thank you very much for your help in these matters and, as is always the case, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Yours sincerely

Tom Fanning
