Dear Parents,
Just a reminder that Parents Evenings are being held tonight and tomorrow. We ask if you can try to be as punctual as possible to avoid causing delays for other parents. You are reminded that you are always welcome to book further appointments where you have areas of particular concern. Dosbarth Derbyn the Reception Class Parents Evenings will be held next Monday and Tuesday 5 & 6th of March.
We will be celebrating Dydd Gwyl Dewi (St Davids Day) this Thursday and as usual all the children will take part in assembly. On St Davids day we encourage children to dress in traditional costume to make the day even more memorable. We will also be taking a group of children to "Hafan-y-Waun" the new retirement home on Waunfawr, to sing and entertain the residents in their new home.
Parents of children who bring packed lunches to school will notice that they are bringing home their leftovers and rubbish at the moment. The reason for this is that there has been an unacceptable amount of waste with children not eating what you have provided. We hope that as you check their box each evening you will be able to judge just how much they are eating.
Infant staff have asked me to remind parents of the need for PE kit on the correct days. It is important that children have a change of clothes to learn to change for physical activity.
We are of course about the begin competing in the local Eisteddfodau, many thanks to all the help from parents in preparing the children. The main competitions will take place next Thursday and Friday 8th and 9th of March. However may we warn parents that the Instrumental Eisteddfod will be held here in school on Wednesday the 7th of March and we expect a lot of traffic on this afternoon and evening. We ask all parents to be as punctual as possible next Wednesday so that we can clear the building prior to the arrival of crowds at 3:45pm.
A list of dates for the rest of term is on the back of this sheet and we remind you that there will be a closure day for all Aberystwyth schools on Monday the 19th of March.
Many thanks for your assistance with all these arrangements, and please remember to contact us if you have any queries what so ever.
Yours sincerely,
Tom Fanning
