Dear Parents,

Just a short note to keep you up to date with activities between now and half term.

Parents' Evening on Tuesday 16th October from 4.00-6.30PM. We remind parents that this is an open invititation to come and chat about how your child has settled into the school year. This is a non-appointment evening and provides an opportunity for sharing information with your child's teacher. Should you have matters that need to be discussed more confidentially you are always asked to make an appointment with your child's teacher. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on this evening.

Can we give some clarity about the school uniform situation. The policy is that we prefer to always see children in school uniform and that children must wear uniform for all visits off the school premises. The Governors have not yet stipulated that uniform must be worn at all times but we actively encourage parents to ensure that their children wear school uniform as much as possible. Where children do not have uniform we are prepared to loan shirts on the day but it expected that this is not the norm. Visits to swimming are considered off school premises and children should wear uniform. I hope this clarifies the matter and should you wish to discuss the matter further please feel welcome to come and see me.

We list below a few of the activities that will be happening over the coming weeks, but in particular please note that all Aberystwyth schools are closed on Monday and Tuesday the 5th and 6th of November. Holiday Club inform me that they will be operating on these days (book early!).

The Harvest Festival will be held on Thursday 25th October. Children are asked to bring an item to put into a food hamper which will be sent to the Night Shelter in Aberystwyth (Fair Trade products preferred). On the same evening there will be a Disco for the children from 6.00-7.30pm (50p per child or £1 per family which is a donation to go with the hamper).

Yours sincerely,

Tom Fanning
